Iron Man 3 for Android is a runner game that is much more elaborate and professional than many other games in the genre, and it centers around one of the most famous superheroes in the world.

The game follows a plot that is based on the movie of the same name, and it expands upon the tired idea of an infinite runner by incorporating more depth and detail. Other games in this genre include examples like Temple Run, Monster Dash, and more, but few games have the same polish and engagement of Iron Man 3.

For starters, the player isn't running in this game, but instead they are flying using one of the 18 included Iron Man suits. You'll have to shoot enemies and dodge obstacles as you move through the levels, and there are tons of power-ups and other items scattered throughout the levels that makes it easier to upgrade your weapons, unlock new suits and weapons, and increase defensive capabilities.

The main objective of the game is to survive as long as you can through the world, but there are also other missions that can earn the player certain rewards, like credits for the in-game currency. Daily missions can also be used to determine exactly what is happening in the main story while also earning more currency.

While Iron Man 3 is technically free to play, it does have several in-game purchases that will help the player reach higher levels much faster. Every time Iron Man completes a run, he must wait until his armor is repaired before he can fly again. One of the freemium options includes the ability to reduce or eliminate this waiting period so players can get back to playing right away.

Like most runners, this game does not include any multiplayer modes, but it is possible for players to compare their high scores online through the leaderboards.

There are certain aspects of the game to which many players will have to adapt in order to thrive, such as the enemies that can and can not be shot, the number of items that can be collected, and the flying controls themselves. Iron Man selects on his own at what height he will fly based on the preset path of the game, so players must anticipate his movements since they don't control him directly.

Since this game is for a mobile platform, it includes touchscreen controls, but the controls aren't very precise and can often lead to accidental failures. Fortunately, the game allows players to adjust the sensitivity of the touch controls, and there is even an option to use only tilt-based controls. Beyond optimizing the game for your own style of play, the game is quite fun. It doesn't take long for the action to become addictive.
